Dortmund Airport
Dortmund airport (DTM) is situated just 10 Klms (6 miles) East of Dortmund itself. Due to it’s location on the Eastern side of the Ruhr industrial area, the airport has quick and easy access to A40 and A44 motorways, providing a great gateway to the North Rhine and Westfalia regions of Germany.
The airport is now often referred to as ‘Dortmund Airport 21′, this is because one of the major shareholders in the airport is a company called DWS21. The airport has seen steady growth in the past few years, largely due to the low cost airline that now service the airport. A large number of airlines service the airport and offer flights to over 40 destinations worldwide.
Over 1.2 million passengers now pass through the airport each year on both domestic and International flights. The airport only has one terminal with three floors, the arrivals being on the ground floor, departures on level 1 and other airport facilities for passengers on level 2.
