Dortmund Airport Departures Procedures
Dortmund airport departure procedures are just like any other airport. Passengers wishing to fly from the airport are required to check-in with the airline to which they are flying with, before boarding. Passengers who fail to do so, will not be allowed to fly.
It is advisable to arrive at the airport in good time and it is recommended that passenger arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to their depature time. Unfortunately, if you arrive at the airport late and do not allow sufficient time for checking-in, you may miss your airlines allocated check-im time and as a result, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
Passengers can check-in at the airport using the check-in desks in the departures area area. If you use this method, you will need to present the required documents at the check-in desk. You will then be issued with your boarding pass, which you will need to clear passport control and also board the aircraft.
More and more airlines are now allowing passengers to check-in online. If you choose this method, please remember to print off all the required documents and take them with you to the airport. If you fail to do so, some of the airlines will charge yo a fee for printing a new boarding pass and these fees are not cheap!
Once you have checked-in, you can then make your way to passport control and once you have successfully cleared passport control, you can relax, shop or enjoy a quick drink as you wait for your flight.
